The Parish Council reviews each planning application received from South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC). We endeavour, wherever possible, to talk with the immediate neighbours and the applicant, to help inform our view of the application. We then respond with one of three options:

  • We think the application should be APPROVED
  • We think the application should be REFUSED
  • We have NO STRONG VIEWS

Material Planning Considerations

Some common planning considerations which SODC can (MATERIAL) and cannot (NON-MATERIAL) take into account in the determination of a planning application are:

  • The Statutory Development Plan
    • Oxfordshire Structure Plan
    • Waste & Minerals Local Plan
    • South Oxfordshire Local Plan

Section 54a of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 requires that applications or appeals be determined in accordance with the Development Plan unless material considerations indicate otherwise.

  • Planning/Development Briefs produced by SODC
